    Work Experience

    1) Organization: HOLTEC ASIA PVT. LTD., Pune
    Designation: PRINCIPAL ENGINEER (Thermal Analyst)
    Period: September 2013 to April 2021
    Reporting Channel: Director Analyses, Holtec International Pvt. Ltd.
    Role and responsibilities:
    o Responsible for thermal analysis of Dry Storage Casks used for pressurized storage casks and transport casks for spent Nuclear Fuel.
    o Responsible for setting up team of CFD engineers.
    Projects Handled:
    o Thermal Analysis of Dry Storage Casks used for pressurized storage casks and transport casks for spent Nuclear Fuel using ANSYS FLUENT software and MathCad.
    o Transient analysis to capture time bound operations and accidents like fire for casks storing spent Nuclear Fuel.
    o Performed advanced thermal analysis for fire accident evaluation, cyclic vacuum drying, Forced Helium Dehydration for nuclear fuel storage casks.
    o Authored several calculation packages using USNRC approved methodologies for modelling dry Storage Casks for long term storage. Preparation of equipment licensing reports for USNRC regulatory approval. Delivered projects for the US, Ukraine clients.
    o Occasionally worked on static structural FEA analysis of lifting devices.

    Role and responsibilities: Recruitment of teaching faculties/University examination co-ordination/ Committee member for Syllabus setting.
    Projects Handled:
    o Erosion of base of dam by flow of water
    o CFD based modeling of mini-scale wind turbine
    o FEM based modeling of stone crusher mechanism
    o CFD based modeling of bubble column reactor (in collaboration with IIT Madras)
    o CFD modeling of various heat exchanger geometries (tube-in-tube helical and sinusoidal tube shapes were investigated.)
    o CFD modeling of triangular ribbed hot surface.
    3) Organization: ANSYS FLUENT PVT. LTD., Pune
    Designation: APPLICATION SUPPORT ENGINEER
    Period: April 2008 to May 2009
    Role and responsibilities:
    o Responsible for providing technical support related to ANSYS FLUENT software.
    o Responsible for providing technical trainings related to ANSYS FLUENT software.
    o Acquired the expertise and hands-on-experience of functionality of FLUENT CFD code
    (like UDF, Flow modelling for rotating equipment (MRF), multi-phase flows)
    Projects Handled:
    o CFD simulation of clutch using ANSYS FLUENT software (Manifold of clutch is a complicated geometrical section. This section is replaced by porous media. Multi-phase flow VOF model was used. )

    4) Technical experience during Masters/Doctoral studies

    Organization: INDIAN INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE, Bangalore
    Computational Fluid Dynamic Analysis of convective cooling in an enclosure (applicable to electronics cooling)
    o Developed an in-house FORTARN/MATLAB based code
    o Exposure to turbulent flow modelling
    o Developed a FORTRAN based code for Pulse Tube Cryo-cooler.

    (Cryo-cooler related work is not the part of thesis.)
    o Awarded with National Doctoral Fellowship of AICTE.
