 Welcome to the Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities! Established in 1960, the department has played a vital role in translating fundamental sciences into practical engineering solutions. It fosters a strong foundation in applied sciences and humanities, giving engineering students a competitive edge. It equips engineering students with the essential knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the chosen field. 

With the aim to lay groundwork for future engineers, the department offers multi-disciplinary courses in Chemistry, Biology, Communication Skills, Psychology, Design Thinking, Professional Ethics, Environmental Science, Constitution of India, Intellectual Property Rights, Entrepreneurship Development, Liberal Learning Course etc.  

The Department has state-of-the-art laboratories such as Chemistry Laboratory, Language Laboratory, Biology Laboratory (Microbiology, Nano-biotechnology, Molecular Biology and Animal Tissue Culture) and Environmental Science Research Laboratory. These laboratories enable faculty and students to employ fundamental principles and create innovative solutions. It also provides hands-on learning to the students through student centered interactive teaching pedagogy.  

The department has been rapidly expanding in consultancy services. It offers expertise through testing and consulting services in the domains of Biology, Chemistry, Communication Skills and Environment Science. 

The department caters to the holistic development and academic needs of students by providing guidance and training in allied domains of engineering.
