About

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year 1912. At present, the department offers Two undergraduate, three Postgraduates, two PG Diploma Programs and Ph.D. Program. The Department is highly reputed for producing eminent engineers as professionals, researchers, and entrepreneurs. The Department has strong industry-institute collaboration and developed state of art laboratories and infrastructure in association with industries such as Bajaj group, Danfoss, Eaton, Forbes Marshall, Kirloskar, Altair, Autodesk, Siemens etc. Recently AR-VR CoE is included in the department. Many of its eminent alumni occupy key positions in industries and institutions in India and abroad. Department faculties are working in various advanced interdisciplinary domains of research and development to provide appropriate technical solutions. For the integral development of the students department encourages them to participate in technical, cultural, sports clubs and competitions. The department has recently developed a unique facility of “Design-To-Make Center”, providing facilities for new product developments to foster entrepreneurship. 

 In continuation to vision of COEP Tech university, the department aspires to be a global leader by:- 

• Equipping students with essential contemporary life skills. 

• Training future problem-solvers to make them enable to tackle the real world challenges. 

• Developing intrinsically good human being by imparting knowledge, skill and values .
