The Computer Science & Engineering Department at the COEP Technological University, formerly known as the College of Engineering Pune (COEP), was established in 1992 and has grown to be a prominent department within the institution. It originally included both Computer Engineering and Information Technology branches, but since 2018, the Information Technology course has merged with Computer Engineering, which now has an intake of 150 students per year.

The department offers four postgraduate programs in Computer Engineering, Information Security, Cyber Security and Data Science. These programs are designed to provide advanced knowledge and skills in their respective fields, preparing graduates for specialized careers in technology and security.

The department also offers a Ph.D. program under COEP Technological University. It is well-regarded for its emphasis on research and development, with faculty members actively engaged in projects that address societal needs. The department promotes open-source software development, and its students frequently participate and excel in various technical competitions. Additionally, the department is recognized as a research center by Savitribai Phule Pune University for its Ph.D. program.
