School of Civil Engineering and Planning
The School of Civil Engineering and Planning (SCEP) came into existence on establishment of the COEP Technological University in the year 2022. The School comprises of the Department of Civil Engineering and the Department of Planning. Currently, the school offers two Bachelor’s Degree programmes (BTech) and various specializations in Master’s Degree (MTech) as well as PhD programmes in different domains of Civil Engineering and Planning. The academic programs under the school have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The school remains committed to high standards of engineering education through outstanding teaching, innovative curricula, state-of-the-art facilities and excellent research environment.
The School of Civil Engineering and Planning provides right ambience to nurture the innate talent and aptitude of the students for their all round development. Experiential and project based learning, internships and internship based semester-long field projects are some of the salient features of imparting knowledge, skills and right attitude to the students. In addition, the various clubs of CoEP Tech provide the students the much-cherished opportunities to come together to discuss and exchange ideas with like-minded people where there’s something for everyone. COEP Consulting club, Civil Services Aspirant’s club, Arts and Crafts, Astronomy, Satellites, Aeronautics, etc., are some of those, just to name a few. In addition, there are ample opportunities for the students to develop and hone their co-curricular, extracurricular, entrepreneurial, and leadership abilities.
Our students undertake research work in several specializations geared towards enabling them to tackle challenging engineering problems relevant to the modern world. The faculty members of the school are involved in research and teaching in the areas of Green Buildings, Regional and Urban Planning, GIS, Computational Mechanics, Pavement Technology, Soil stabilization, Earthquake Engineering, Structural engineering, Environmental & Transportation, Engineering, Geomechanics and Geotechnology, etc.
Students from basic education to higher education are confronted with multiple complex challenges that affect them which include but not limited to adopting to new environment, different learning and teaching methods, slightly extreme workload, and academic expectations, etc., In their transformative journey the SMME faculty provides the students much needed counseling and mentorship. The students get extended support for their professional journey in industry or higher education in India and abroad forming a strong bond that transcends beyond the boundaries of the institute.
